Anna, Tx Skatepark & Pump Track by SPA Skateparks
Skateparks for Dallas was founded on the premise that everyone deserves access to amenities that help them grow, and that not everyone is a “team sport person”. Personal progression is a hallmark of all action sports, trying & failing on repeat until you build a new skill. Its a powerful skill to develop in all aspects of life.
The City of Dallas wants to attract families, but until recently, didn’t see skateparks fitting into their portfolio of offerings to achieve it. Contrast this with the suburbs surrounding DFW, which have invested in skateparks as flagships throughout their park systems.
We have covered the amazing skateparks in Arlington, Plano, Frisco, Lewisburg, Garland and more in this space. As the metro area grows out wider, we are starting to see the next generation of skateparks arrive in the farther outlying cities. In this post, we highlight the new skatepark & bike pump track in Anna, Texas.
The rideable size of the park is 18,000 square feet at Slayter Creek Park. This park features Anna public service members recognizing the role of the local high school student who provided the inspiration. Watch the 10 minute documentary here. The highlight for me is the grey-haired city council members personally advocating for action sports facilities they wish they had when they were in high school. So they got them built!
This skatepark includes a lighting system, no fences, an accessible entry plaza and pathways around the park.
