On Thursday March 28, 2024 at 2:30pm, Bachman Lake (2530 Webb Chapel Extension, Dallas, TX 75220), will host several dignitaries from the city of Dallas for the Bachman Lake Skatepark Ground Breaking.
This event has been hosted by long time Bachman Skatepark advocates Honorable District 6 City Council Member Omar Narvaez and Mr. Tim Dickey, the D6 Park Board representative.
Also expected to attend are:
Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson,
Park Board President Arun Agarwal
Director of Dallas Parks & Recreation John Jenkins
as well as the skatepark design & construction firm
The 45,600 square foot skatepark design that was revealed on December 1, 2022 will finally have its ground breaking so construction can begin in earnest. Dallas has an incredibly rich history of skateboarding, thanks to Jeff Phillips, Craig Johnson, Jon Comer, Mike Crum of 4DWN and many others.
Bachman Lake was the home of the world famous Clown Ramp skated by all the big skateboarders in its day, and that gathering place will be reborn in a modern, durable, skatepark in 2024.
The Bachman Skatepark will join the amazing amenities at Bachman Lake including walking trails, lake views and the new regional aquatic center. The skatepark design is built to preserve the old growth trees and benefit from their shade at the same time.
This is a truly special day in Dallas skateboarding and I hope you can join us
